Hollókő lies 100 km from Budapest in the  Cserhát  mountains. This picturesque little  village was restored to its original form  along with its village center.

 

Aggtelek Dripstone Cave lies in the North-  Eastern part of Hungary in the Aggtelek National  Park

 

Pannonhalma Abbey is a one thousand -year-old  Benedictine monastery located 15 kilometers from  Győr. It can be visited with a local guide.

 

Hortobágy National Park is Europe's largest  continuous natural grassy steppe (reached: on the  M3 motorway from Budapest to Füzesabony, later  toward Debrecen on route 33 which runs through  the National Park).

 

Pécs - early Christian Necropolis of  Sopianae  South of the country, 213 kilometers from  Budapest in Pécs where, as a result of 200  years of archaelogical research, large numbers  of items and wall paintings with Christian  symbols were excavated.

 

Fertő Lake found on route 85 or 84 from Győr.  One part lies in Hungary while the other lies on  Austrian land. The Fertő-Hansági National Park has  water of international importance with rich flora  and fauna and spreading reeds.

 

Tokaj historical wine region    The highlands of the NW and N Hungarian lowland  plain are accessible from Budapest on the M3  motorway, then route 37 and 38 from Miskolc. It  preserves the traditions of not only grape growing,  but the production of Tokaj wines now  internationally renowned.
